What’s the one thing we all have in common? Think hard.

Have you ever noticed that how you think you have communicated with someone, your spouse, your children, your boss or your co workers, is often heard quite differently by the other person? You may have meant one thing, but how it was perceived by someone else can be astonishingly different. Why is that?

There are two reasons:

• It’s not what is actually said, its how the communication was delivered. It’s the energy behind the actual words that really makes the difference. Not the words themselves. This is why it is so important to be aware of your feelings and your emotions when you say something because the way it comes out will always be a function of your energy at the moment.
• The second reason that communication is so tricky is that the recipient of the information will always be interpreting what was said through his/her own filter and what may “trigger” someone may not trigger or even effect someone else.
