Economists are saying the US recession looks likely, if not inevitable, in a recent article by Newsweek most Americans (58%) think we’re already in one.  But why doesn’t anyone in DC to want to admit it?

Stock prices and commodity prices are down across the board. Souring gas prices, and inflation is at an all-time high since 1981.

Before 2022, the CPI (consumer price index) hadn’t gained more than 8.3% on a year-over-year basis since 1982. Core CPI, which excludes food and energy prices, was up 0.6% on a monthly basis and 6.2% from a year ago. Food prices rose 1.2% month over month and 10.1% compared with a year ago.

When will it end?

With all of the evidence to suggest we are either heading into a recession or already in one, why won’t the White House, the Treasury, or the leading analysts on Wallstreet acknowledge it?
