The premier episode of “Best Seller Podcast” will feature authors:
Adrian Ott, author of Exponential Influence™: Designing Digital Habits That Engage Distracted Customers stresses the difference between traditional and digital habits. Traditional habits are based on trigger, retain, and reward while digital habits are a faster way to get from point A to point B. Ott says traditional habits are like race tracks, you run the course multiple times and that’s the routine. Whereas digital habits are more like beltways around a city, they’re much bigger roads with multiple on-ramps. She states that some of the biggest companies worldwide are building an eco-system that is still able to pull people in, even after periods of non-use.
Dina Simon, author of Make Unstoppable Simple: Creative Problem Solving in Life and Leadership talks about how to define unstoppable and make unstoppable simple – both in our personal and professional lives. The episode provides a compelling account of her personal experiences of family tragedy at a young age and how those experiences helped her shape her life today — personally and professionally. Simon is a firm believer that making the unstoppable simple starts with self-reflection. Whether you are someone in the midst of, or contemplating, a career change or an established c-suite leader, self-reflection is the most accurate way to know what you bring to the table and what you don’t.
Daniel Burrus, author of The Anticipatory Organization: Turn Disruption and Change into Opportunity and Advantage, talks about being a futurist in an unpredictable world full of uncertainty. Burrus says that uncertainty doesn’t empower us because it involves high risk, which keeps us from moving forward. On the other hand, strategy-based uncertainty gives people the confidence to make bold moves and innovate. He says anyone can be futurists by learning to be anticipatory in a reactionary world and separating trends into two categories: hard trends and soft trends. The main thing Burrus wants to do is teach people how to “actively shape the future instead of passively receive it.”
Ron Karr is the best-selling author of Lead, Sell or Get Out of The Way and this episode outlines a repeatable process based on the powerful idea that great sellers lead relationships in the same way that great leaders sell ideas. In the always-competitive sales world, there is no room for followers – only leaders. Sales does not just require persuasive and effective communication, it requires sales leaders to raise the bar by finding new opportunities and creating new levels of performance for their customers.
“Best Seller Podcast” is hosted by Taryn Winter Brill.
