Best Seller TV, the only show dedicated to covering today’s best-selling business books on C-Suite TV, is announcing its April programming with new episodes, featuring Andrew Tarvin, author of Humor That Works: The Missing Skill for Success and Happiness at Work; Larry Vaughn, author of Business Cards and Shoe Leather: How Dyslexia Help Me Found One of the World’s Premier Business Cooperatives; T.A. Laser, author of Organization Culture Killers: How Leaders Build Cultures of Success; and Makarand Utpat, author of How to Kickstart Your Digital Marketing: The Ultimate Guide to Build Your Brand, Dominate Social Media, Publish Compelling Content, Drive Traffic and Close More Deals.

Andrew Tarvin, author of Humor That Works: The Missing Skill for Success and Happiness at Work, talks about how people need to learn how to incorporate humor into their professional lives in order to be more productive and achieve better results. Tarvin wanted to write a book that was actionable, that people could read and immediately start implementing humor into their workplace. He says that people “learn skills to be effective at our jobs, but never learn the skills to actually enjoy our jobs.” The most important thing Tarvin feels is understanding your humor M.A.P. – Medium, Audience, and Purpose. Tarvin stresses that in the workplace it’s less about being a comedian, it’s about being effective. Humor enhances positivity and, with 83 percent of Americans feeling stressed out at work, the book is about how to use humor to execute faster, communicate better and connect – or lead – further. After all, “It’s less about doing what you love than loving what you do.”

Larry Vaughn, author of Business Cards and Shoe Leather: How Dyslexia Help Me Found One of the World’s Premier Business Cooperatives, wrote a personal book about being dyslexic and thriving as an author, speaker, and businessman in spite of struggling with the disability from a very young age. Vaughn started out selling print and because of his dyslexia, resorted to perfecting the art of storytelling. In order to be a good salesman, he says, all you need is “business cards and shoe leather. If you have good business cards and a good pair of shoes, you just hit the street and start selling.” With this book, Vaughn decided to share his own personal struggles to encourage other professionals with the same learning disability to take this perceived weakness and turn it into a strength. He adds, “Once you realize that, good things will come.”

T.A. Laser, author of Organization Culture Killers: How Leaders Build Cultures of Success, capitalized on her experience in senior leadership to write this, her first, book. Laser says her book is geared towards future leaders, including millennials, because they don’t know the pitfalls to avoid when it comes to leadership. She adds there’s a big disconnect as companies aren’t doing a good job of building leaders. Laser says that the biggest mistakes companies are making is not defining their expectations or building strong foundations capable of withstanding a culture of success. While no one incident or individual can kill a culture, not aligning the expectations for success can definitely kill the ability to succeed. She emphasizes, “Your culture delivers your success.”

Makarand Utpat, author of How to Kickstart Your Digital Marketing: The Ultimate Guide to Build Your Brand, Dominate Social Media, Publish Compelling Content, Drive Traffic and Close More Deals talks about the building blocks for successful digital marketing. Utpat says people need to focus on the ‘what’ and the ‘how’ by building, engaging and converting. He adds that when building a website, you have to look at smart marketing for the front end and smart retention on the back end, including having a good call to action. The content on your website has to be designed to match the conversations that are going on in the minds of the consumers. Utpat also says, “Your brand is equivalent to your story.”
