Episode 37: Dave interviews Coach Shelly Bawcombe NCAA Champion
Dave’s women champion month continues today as he interviews NCAA champion Coach Shelley Klaes-Bawcombe, She is the winningest coach in James Madison University lacrosse history and is the first to bring a national championship to her alma mater, as she guided the Dukes to the NCAA Division I national title this past season. She has won 201 games in her career, including 151 as the leader of the JMU program and was voted the Division I National Coach of the Year both by coaches and the media in 2018. A member of both the JMU Hall of Fame and Virginia Lacrosse Hall of Fame, Klaes-Bawcombe has led JMU to seven NCAA tournament appearances and five Colonial Athletic Association championships. As a player for the Dukes, she was twice named an All-American and was part of two NCAA tournament teams in the mid 90’s. The strategy she used to bring her team together to win a national championship is something C-Suite executives can use to rally their team to a winning mindset.
