Vicki Salemi: ‘Finding a part-time job for the holidays’
Do you need extra money to get through the holiday season? Vicki Salemi is a career expert at Monster, and she talks about how you can get a part-time job to help you fund your holiday shopping. She stresses to GenBiz and the C-Suite Network at the Bold TV Studio that it is not too late to get your application in before the end of the year. Salemi even shares that many people want this part-time job to potentially become a full-time job in the future. When looking for a side gig, you should treat it like you are looking for a full-time job, but make sure that the positions you’re looking at fit your situation when it comes to commute and wages. A proper salary is huge for a side gig because you have to make sure this position is worth your time, especially if you are already balancing full-time employment. When looking for the right fit, you need to impress someone as if you are applying for a full-time job. Salemi explains to GenBiz and the C-Suite Network that showing you are passionate and determined to succeed in your role will give your potential employer all the more confidence to hire you. The job market is always competitive and you need to show that you stand out. Resumes are usually read by computers, so make sure you read the job description and fill your resume with keywords from the description.
